Month 1: January 2021 - First Impressions From the beginning I loved the environments that the program puts you into. I have stood at the top of the Great Wall of China, been on Mars, in the Dolomites, by the Pyramids... there is seemingly no end to the variety of great sites that you can work out in. [Later on I would discover that there are a few invented sites as well... those are fun to come upon.] I was able to get the hang of hitting the orbs with the bats and squatting and lunging into the triangles. My main problem was getting completely out of breath and having my heart rate in the red zone. I couldn't go for too long without being drenched in sweat - something I wasn't used to and didn't really enjoy! In a burst of thoughtless enthusiasm after the first day of doing L level workouts I decided to try an M. I can even tell you which one it was: Breakout Role "Cult Classics." I picked it because the first song after the warm up was Dick Dale's Miserlou

My Goal, and Why... Since I was in my very early 20's, I've been telling myself that I should exercise. The conversation usually went something like this... "Wow, Annie, you're twenty-two now. That's not so young anymore. You've been lucky that you are still in shape, but you really should think about exercising." "Yes, I should, but I have time." So this has gone on for thirty years with more or less the same dialogue. Which is not to say that I NEVER exercise. I enjoy yoga and have, at times, done that semi-regularly. I've occasionally done weight training with light weights. But I've never had much success with other 'regular' exercise. I don't run unless I'm being chased. The thought of a gym is horrifying.
